We work with a mine that has an incredible love for this American gem. All of the rough material is mined with passion and care for the environment. Instead of creating mass-produced gemstones, mined without regard to the environment, and cut with machines, they work with award winning gemstone cutters and carvers to actualize the beauty of each gem. They love each gem as if it were their child. I felt like I was entrusted with this gem, like a parent entrusts their child to the care of another. I hoped to present this stone in the best light possible. I was inspired by the gem and its environment. We go to Tucson every year in hopes of discovering rare, unique gems. This miraculous gem is a one of a kind sunstone that we purchased on a recent trek to Tucson.

It is extremely rare to find sunstone in this quality, size and unique cut. This gem was cut by award-winning American gemstone cutter who has won accolades for his craft.

This sunstone comes from an Oregon miner, who spends all summer uncovering the rough material. We love supporting American miners!
